Winter: Rachel

Rachel is my sister and therefore my most convenient model so basically 99% of my pictures are of her.
Sometimes I can get a nice picture of my sister and I. Today happened to finally be one of those days:

And now for some unedited moments...
Sometimes I ask my sister to take pictures of me... Sometimes (most of the time) it doesn't go so well...

The dog is not our most cooperative model.

And neither is my sister apparently...

Winter Pictures: Olivia

Here is the gorgeous Olivia and a few snaps from our photo session last week.

Laughing pictures are always necessary!

I just had to put my self timer on and jump in front of the camera with her!

Ok I just had to share this one here because my dog is just TOO funny! She took her raw hide chew outside and insisted on posing with it!

And a final hair picture to end this post....
Have a nice day y'all!

A Photoshoot with a Friend

My number one client is my sister. She bribes me to take pictures of her and edit them if you haven't already been able to tell by the great deal of pictures of her that I've shared. Anyways, today she had a friend over and begged for the usual photo shoot. The temperatures are in the high 30s here so of course I agreed (super warm I know!)

This first one is my favorite and describes the two of them perfectly. They're always giggling about who knows what!

I made my sister step out of the frame so I could get some pictures of someone other than her for once!

"Wild Life" Photography Adventures

Being a wild life photographer sounds interesting... until you're face to face with a lion and then that's when it becomes just plain scary. I've had my fair share of wild life encounters that I've photographed... I use the term wild life very loosely but here's some of my favorites...

I feel taking pictures of animals is almost like taking pictures of really young children (no one be offended please!). They can't sit still and they don't understand a lot of the posing commands outside of "sit"

Boys will be Boys

As much as I think it's nice to have pictures of children behaving and being perfectly posed, I think it's great to have pictures of them just being themselves and having fun.

Ok so we did get one perfectly posed photo! Good thing I was able to snap it in the 3 millaseconds that this lasted for!

Boys are Silly!

There's something about two little boys and a very large cardboard tube that's just asking for some horsing around and that's exactly what these two did and I'm so happy I was able to catch some of it on camera!

There's a place I love that's about 20 miles from the nearest highway, about 10 minutes from the nearest cell signal, and about a 5 minute hike up the driveway. But that's why I love it! As a matter of fact, it's got the perfect hill to roll down with a buddy in a very large tube!

New Orleans: As seen by Taxi

New Orleans is a city I've been to quite a few times. I've probably spent more time in New Orleans than I have in Detroit... and Detroit is only a 30-40 minute drive from my front door. Heck, it's where both my parents grew up!
Anyways, here's some of my pictures from the only time I actually went there with camera in hand. Too bad I was sitting in the back seat of the taxi when I got these!

I saw these two girls standing on chairs leaning over the edge of the balcony... no parents in site!

The beads were hung everywhere

These two woman were jump roping in the street and it was the coolest thing!

Ok, I was actually there right before Mardi Gras so I could not resist snapping a picture of some of the crazy costumes I saw!
